Accreditation & Affiliations
Moravian University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and approved for professional preparation by the American Chemical Society, the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the National Association of Schools of Music. The Moravian University undergraduate majors in accounting, management, and economics, and the Moravian MBA and Master’s in Human Resource Management degrees are accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs. The Department of Nursing pre-licensure undergraduate programs (i.e., traditional BSN and accelerated post baccalaureate BSN) and the graduate nurse practitioner programs (i.e., adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner and adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner) are approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing (PA SBON). All nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Moravian Theological Seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.
The University is a member of the Council of Independent Colleges and Universities, the American Council on Education, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Universities, the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania, and the Annapolis Group.
Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges
Moravian University is a member of the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges (LVAIC), alongside Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, and Muhlenberg College. The LVAIC offices are located on Moravian’s campus, in Bethlehem, PA. Under the leadership of a board of directors and an executive director, LVAIC's mission is to broaden educational opportunities for students, offer professional development for faculty and staff, achieve greater economy and efficiency of operation, establish a structure for regional planning, and provide a vehicle for relating to the community.
As a member of LVAIC, Moravian University is able to offer our students, faculty, and staff access to select courses at partner institutions, educational conferences, collaborative programs, and more. We believe in and support the vision of LVAIC, which is that each member institution becomes stronger and more distinctive as a result of our partnership.
