Health Sciences Curriculum

Students enrolled in the Health Sciences major complete the following core courses.

  • BIOL 106, Human Anatomy & Physiology I for Health Sciences Majors
    • or BIOL 108 Anatomy & Physiology of Speech and Hearing Sciences (for CSD track)
  • BIOL 107, Human Anatomy & Physiology II for Health Sciences Majors
  • HLTR 185, Introduction to Health Professions 
  • HLTR 210, Medical Topics and Terminology
  • HLTR 310, Research Methods for Health Sciences
  • HLTR 385, Social Issues in Health Science
  • MATH 107, Elementary Statistics  -OR-  HLTP 189, Biostatistics for Health

In the third or fourth year of study, students have the opportunity to enroll in an elective course titled HLTR 285, Clinical Observership to complete the required number of clinical observation hours expected for enrollment into the graduate program of their choice. 

Upon declaring a major in health sciences, students select one of the following tracks, based on their intended career path:
