Colors
Moravian University’s color palette is almost as historic as the college itself. In 1894, with the bitter battles of the American Civil War still a recent memory, Moravian adopted the colors blue and grey as a gesture of unity and healing.
Over the decades, our palette has transformed, while staying in touch with its historic roots, and is now considered one of the most important aspects of our brand.
Palette
Primary
Moravian Blue and Grey are the primary colors of the University’s identity. The secondary blues and greys should always be paired with Moravian Blue. All formal communication materials should, whenever possible, use these colors.
When color beyond the primary and secondary colors is needed for distinction, the tertiary colors can be used, but should not overpower the use of the Moravian Blue.

Color Proportions
A precise and controlled use of the color palette is the key to creating a sense of visual consistency and sophistication across the Moravian identity. Moravian Blue should be the dominant color. Accent Blue serves as a highlight color to add vibrancy and emphasis. Tertiary colors should only be used if necessary and applied sparingly.
Whenever possible, use these recommended ratios as a guide to applying the color palette. Please note percentages are approximate and color ratios may differ depending on usage.
