Deb Halliday, PhD, RN, has been the Moravian University simulation director since 2017 and a member of the nursing faculty at Moravian since 2014. With a background in evidence-based simulation, Halliday completed a certificate in simulation from Drexel University in August 2016. Her research, centered around student evaluation in simulation, has been showcased at notable conferences, including the Society for Simulation in Healthcare IMSH Conference in Orlando and the National Education Research Conference (NERC) in Washington, DC. Halliday is an active member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), and the National League for Nursing (NLN). She also played a crucial role in developing the simulation facilities within the Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Center for Health Sciences at Moravian University.

Jennifer Landis, MEd

Educator, Moravian University Interprofessional Simulation Center

Jennifer Landis, MEd, has accumulated a decade of experience in simulation across various roles. She earned her master’s degree in education from Moravian University in 2022. Landis has been an active member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) since 2013 and the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), during which she presented a poster in 2019. At Moravian, she has collaborated on several published articles. Her training covers technical aspects such as manikin operation and moulage creation, complemented by attending conferences to learn about applying learning theories to simulation. Landis’s primary interest lies in standardized or simulated patient (SP) simulation, in which she focuses on creating realistic patient portrayals and providing valuable feedback to enhance clinical performance.

Dana Noll

Technician, Moravian University Interprofessional Simulation Center
nolld@moravian.edu

Dana Noll’s extensive background in emergency medical services and simulation training showcases her dedication and versatility in healthcare fields. Starting as a volunteer with the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad in 2001, Noll quickly advanced to earning her EMT certification and serving as a lieutenant. Her commitment to emergency care continued at the Hunterdon Developmental Center, where she worked as an EMT for 12 years and also became a first-aid and CPR instructor. In 2017, Noll transitioned to a simulation technician role at St. Luke’s, where she applied her expertise in creating silicone task trainers for educational purposes. Her work supported students at Temple Medical School and St. Luke’s School of Nursing, as well as in various departments within the St. Luke’s network. Noll’s experience with Laerdal manikins, education management systems, and standardized patients highlights her technical skills and abilities to enhance healthcare training and simulation. Noll has been instrumental in developing task trainers, suture skins, and other training devices that benefit students in the NP and EMT programs at Moravian University.

“Here at Moravian, I have seen firsthand student improvement in overall confidence in skill application and clinical judgment. The entire simulation integration process allows students to reflect on their personal growth from semester to semester and year after year to become better nurses in the future.”
