Welcome to Moravian University’s Interprofessional Simulation Center

In our simulation center, we integrate cutting-edge technology with realistic simulations to enhance our students’ learning experiences.

Our state-of-the-art facility provides hands-on education with high-fidelity simulators and task trainers, all guided by expert simulation professionals. Students develop their cognitive, technical, and behavioral skills in this dynamic and immersive environment.

While our simulation center is essential to students’ education in the health sciences and nursing programs, we’re committed to expanding the benefits of simulation to other disciplines and community partners to foster new opportunities for innovative learning and collaboration.

Explore how our Interprofessional Simulation Center is shaping the future of education through advanced simulation technologies and collaborative learning. If you’re interested in finding out more about what the simulation center can offer, contact us at simulationlab@moravian.edu.

Highlights

  • Interprofessional simulation: Our center facilitates numerous interprofessional simulations, particularly between nursing students and other healthcare programs at Moravian. These experiences promote teamwork and collaboration among future healthcare professionals.
  • Simulation research: We are investigating how evidence-based simulation impacts the stress response in nursing students. This research aims to identify simulation scenarios that induce varying levels of stress and explore methods to optimize these experiences for improved learning outcomes.
  • Future virtual reality (VR) in simulation: Virtual reality is poised to revolutionize learning by offering immersive experiences without physical constraints. Our staff is actively researching VR technology to assess its potential benefits for student learning and skill development.
  • Robust faculty and standardized patient training: Our simulation educator and staff provide comprehensive training for faculty to ensure adherence to current simulation standards. Additionally, our standardized patient program members receive expert training that reflects the latest evidence in improving student learning outcomes.

“Simulation at Moravian serves as a bridge between realistic practice and the clinical environment.”
