Moravian Bound: Family Surprise
Thanksgiving Day: filled with family, food, and for one incoming freshman, the perfect opportunity to reveal some pretty big news about her future.
When Meagan Ryer ’20 realized that Moravian University was the school for her, she knew she wanted to surprise the rest of her extended family, including her grandparents, aunt, and cousin. Weeks before, her mom, dad, brother, and Meagan bought Moravian University shirts to wear to Thanksgiving. “We all walked in [to dinner] with our coats zipped. Then we unzipped our jackets and I announced that I would be spending my next four years at Moravian.”
Her family’s reaction? Priceless. “It was a huge surprise to all of my family because we led them to believe that I was applying to three schools, when in reality, I only applied to Moravian. There was so much happiness and congratulations that day,” Meagan said.
So why Moravian University?
"The atmosphere of Moravian-- from the people to the campus-- just made me feel at home."
