International Application Undergraduate Students (Bachelor's Degree)

If you are still completing a high school or secondary school education, or have completed high school or secondary school and not taken a college or university course, you may apply for admission as an undergraduate freshman student. If you are taking or have taken any college or university courses after graduation from high school, you must apply for admission as an undergraduate transfer student.

Suggested Application Deadlines

  • Fall semester (August-December) Admission: June 1
  • Spring semester (January-May) Admission: November 1

With the few exceptions listed below, international students must submit the same application credentials as other first-year or transfer students:  

1. Completed Application

You must complete either the Moravian Application or the Common Application. Both applications have the same requirements and your application choice will not have a bearing on your admission decision. Regardless of your application choice, there is no fee to apply to Moravian University. 

2. Official Academic Records

Undergraduate applicants must submit an official, certified copy of all academic records with an official school signature and stamp on the document. It must be sent directly from the high school or secondary school to admissionsdata@moravian.edu

For your high school or secondary school transcripts, please have your headmaster or school counselor send your transcripts directly to Moravian. Your headmaster or school counselor can send your transcripts to: admissionsdata@moravian.edu. Transcripts are accepted for admission under the following conditions:

  • Official transcript in English, if issued directly by the school
  • Official, original language transcript with official English language translation
  • Certified copy of the original language transcript sent with an official English translation (if applicable) and signed by one of the following: (a) the Administrator of the student's school, (b) U.S. Embassy official, (c) a Ministry of Education official, (d) U.S. Overseas Advising Office staff member, or (e) Notary Public
  • Remember, undergraduate applicants must submit official, certified copies of all academic records from high school or secondary schools. All records should include an official school signature and stamp on the document.

Transcripts that have been scanned, faxed, or photocopied and sent without official signatures will NOT be accepted.

If you are a transfer student from a community college, college, or university in the United States, you are required to request your official transcripts from your institution's registrar's office to be sent directly to Moravian. Moravian University accepts password-protected electronic transcripts or hard copies in sealed envelopes that are directly sent to Moravian from your previous institutions. Parchment and National Student Clearinghouse are most commonly used.

Electronic password-protected transcripts sent from the institution directly to Moravian can be sent to admissionsdata@moravian.edu.

Hard copy sealed transcripts from the institution can be sent to:

If you would like to transfer credit from a Non-U.S. Community College, College, or University, Moravian University you are required to request your official translated transcript evaluations from one of the following sources:

Moravian must receive your transcripts from the evaluation company to be official.

3. Proof of English Proficiency

Applicants must meet Moravian University’s English Language Proficiency standard by completing one of the tests listed below unless granted a waiver (see below).

If an applicant does not meet a waiver requirement, they must submit official scores from one of the following tests.

*Testing results must be sent directly from the testing agency to admissionsdata@moravian.edu or Michelle Layton at laytonm@moravian.edu   IELTS scores can be sent directly from the student.

†Moravian University reserves the right to ask for other proof of English Language Proficiency. Certain programs may require additional or higher standards of English Language Proficiency to be met.

Applicants must submit official transcripts for one of the following English Language Proficiency Waiver to be applied:

  • Completion of 1 year at a U.S. Community College, College, or University
  • Completion of an Associates Degree at a U.S. Community College
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree at a U.S. College or University
  • Completion of High School or Secondary School from one of the following countries:
    • United States
    • United Kingdom
    • Ireland
    • Canada (except Quebec)
    • Australia 
    • New Zealand

4. Interview (Optional)

After your application is completed and documents are submitted, your admissions officer may schedule a time to connect with you over the phone, Zoom, WhatsApp, WeChat, or Google Meets. This provides an opportunity for you to learn more about Moravian and for Moravian to learn more about you.
