Biography

Coach Jim Walker has served as head basketball coach since 1979. He became the first Moravian men's basketball coach to reach the 300 career victory plateau, reaching it four years ago. Coach Walker has a record of 343-309 in 27 seasons at Moravian and he has an overall mark of 358-319 in 28 years as a collegiate coach. Coach Walker has guided the Hounds to an NCAA Tournament bid, two Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament berths, eight Middle Atlantic Conference playoff appearances and six of his teams have earned national rankings.

Coach Walker has also led the Greyhounds to a Commonwealth league title, and he was named the Commonwealth League Coach of the Year once.

When he is not coaching basketball, coach Walker leads the Moravian men's tennis program, directs the Greyhound tennis and basketball camps in the summer and directs an annual Fall Basketball Coaches Clinic at Moravian.

He served two stints as interim director of athletics for Moravian. Coach Walker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College and holds a Master's Degree from Rider College.
