Monica Cottrell has spent over a decade working as a professional advisor in higher education and, before coming to Moravian, served as the Career Advisor, Associate Professor at Lehigh Carbon Community College.  She has extensive experience in academic and career advising, and working with transfer students.  As an active member of NACADA (The Global Community for Academic Advising), Monica has presented both regionally and nationally and has served as the Eastern PA liaison on the Region 2 Steering Committee and as the Chair of the Advising Community on Transfer Students Steering Committee.  Monica holds an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Akron, and a B.A. in Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania.


Allyson Waylen

Allyson Waylen has worked as a professional advisor since 2016 and has experience working with first-year students and students who are transitioning between majors. Before coming to Moravian, Allyson worked as a Professional Academic Advisor and Academic Coach at Gwynedd Mercy University. Additionally, Allyson taught First Year Experience in the fall and spring semesters and served on various committees like the Strengthening Advising Committee, the General Admissions Committee and the Registration Event Committee.  Allyson earned a M.S. in Higher Education Counseling and Student Affairs from West Chester University and a B.A. in Psychology from Temple University.


Becki Silver

Becki Silver has been a professional advisor since 2014.  She has extensive experience working with first-year and adult students and a strong foundation in major exploration.  Before coming to Moravian, Becki was the Career Advisor and an Assistant Professor at Lehigh Carbon Community College.  She has over twenty years of experience working in education.  She began as a high school English teacher before moving into the counseling role that led her to academic advising.  Becki holds an M.S. in Youth Counseling from the International Institute for Restorative Practices and is a Moravian University alum with a B.A. in English.
