Bethlehem, PA, December 19, 2019: Today, Moravian College announced that every incoming undergraduate student who has been accepted will now receive their MacBook Pro laptop and iPad upon submitting their deposit to attend, as early as February of their senior year in high school. Since 2013, incoming undergraduate students at Moravian have received their MacBook and iPad in June, when they register for their first-year classes.
“The decision to move up the timeline to receive the technology they’ll use at Moravian will be a tangible benefit for every incoming student,” said Bryon Grigsby, president of Moravian College. “Through our relationship with Apple, we’ve been able to make this initiative possible and we continue to explore innovative methods to use technology in ways that will help all of our students succeed.”
In January of 2019 Moravian College was named an Apple Distinguished School for 2018-2021. Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence that use technology to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
“This evolution of our role as an Apple Distinguished School is an exciting development and has been very well received by the incoming students we’ve spoken with so far,” said Scott Dams, vice president of enrollment and marketing at Moravian College. “By providing these students with their equipment as soon as they submit their deposit, we allow them to acclimate sooner to the technology they’ll be using every day during their time as Moravian students.”
Incoming undergraduate students that attend Moravian’s first Accepted Students Day on Saturday, February 15 will be among the first students to receive the MacBook and iPad they’ll use during their time as Moravian students.
