Amos: Moravian University's mascot; University intranet (Access Moravian Online Services); middle name of John Amos Comenius, the father of modern education, whose statue is in front of Comenius Hall
ARC (Athletics and Recreation Center): Home to Johnston Hall, Breidegam Field House, and the Fitness Center
Benigna: University yearbook; the building on the corner of Elizabeth Avenue and Monocacy Street that houses St. Lukes Psychiatric Clinic and is named for Countess Benigna von Zinzendorf, founder of Moravian as a girls’ school in 1742, whose statue is on the Hurd (South) Campus
Blue & Grey: University colors; dining option in the HUB across from the Pavilion
Canvas: University's online learning management system for coursework

Clewell Convenience: Grab-and-go dining located in Peter Hall on the Hurd (South) Campus

Collier Hall of Science: Located at Main and Locust Streets; home to the sciences; referred to as “the Hall of Science”
Comenius Hall: Academic building across from Colonial Hall; originally housed the entire men’s college; named for John Amos Comenius
DeLight’s: Cafe-style dining option located in the Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Center for Health Sciences, location of Starbucks coffee
Dorm Circle: Traffic circle located outside of Bernhardt-Wilhelm and Rau-Hassler; can be accessed from West Laurel Street by the Hillside Complex
Elevate: Moravian's all-encompassing undergraduate experience that includes guaranteed internship and hands-on learning opportunities, a global travel experience for all, and dedicated career support throughout your entire time at Moravian and beyond.
First Year Writing Seminar (FYWS): Required course for all incoming first-year students; introduction to university-level writing
Haupert Union Building (HUB): University student union, which is home to the Arena Theatre, Center for Career & Civic Engagement, Dining Services, mailroom, meeting rooms, Mo's Cupboard, Office of Conference & Event Management, Office of Student Engagement, and Office of Student Life
Hound Bucks: Component of the student meal plan; used as a declining balance at dining locations
Hound 'Em: Moravian's catchphrase encouraging the community to be part of the Pack and embrace the qualities of Greyhounds—courageous and fast, but gentle and friendly
HUB Desk: Information desk in the HUB; staffed by students
Johnston Hall: Main athletics building, including coaches’ offices and the varsity basketball court
Midnight Oasis: Midnight breakfast in the Star and Clewell Dining Hall during finals
Mo and Benny: President Grigsby’s greyhounds, who are often spotted on campus
Mo's Cupboard: Campus resource pantry that provides shelf-stable food items, toiletries, dorm and cleaning supplies to any student in need
Pavilion: Large all-purpose area across from the Blue & Grey in the HUB
PPHAC (Priscilla Payne Hurd Academic Complex): Academic building across from the HUB; home of social sciences departments
The Sally (Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Center for Health Sciences): Located at Main and Laurel Streets; home to the health sciences and mathematics; referred to as “the Sally”
The Star: Traditional dining hall option located in the HUB on Main Street Campus
Steel Athletic Complex: Located on Elizabeth Avenue between Center and New Streets; home to football field, track & field competition area, baseball field, softball field, and tennis courts
Swipe: Student name for the Moravian ID Card, since you “swipe” for food and access to the residence halls
Vespers: Beloved tradition held two weekends following Thanksgiving Break; candlelight ceremony distinctive of the Moravian tradition featuring music by students and worship service
