ABOUT THE WRITING CENTER

The Moravian University Writing Center is an inviting and supportive place where writers at all levels of ability can find support at any stage of the writing process. Tutoring sessions are collaborative, with tutor and writer working together to identify strengths and weaknesses and to formulate a plan for the writer to effectively proceed on the assignment. From selecting an essay topic to editing a final draft, the Writing Center provides feedback on any writing, including essay assignments for First-Year Writing Seminar courses; lab reports, research papers, and short stories; and personal statements for graduate school or scholarship applications.

The writing process can be exhilarating and rewarding—but it can also be frustrating, intimidating, demoralizing, and lonely. Our goal is to help writers become more confident and competent by providing a supportive, productive environment for writing.
