Phi Mu Alpha sinfonia
The Sigma Lambda Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia at Moravian University was chartered on March 30, 2014. Since then, the chapter has become a staple of the Moravian University Community. In our activities, we look for every opportunity to spread the joy of music. In addition to our own semesterly concerts (including our annual “Bach to Pop” concerts) we make it a goal to host local bands to perform on campus, such as The Billy Bauer Band, who we hosted in 2016. A recording of our Chapter’s rendition of the National Anthem is routinely featured at many sporting events on campus. The traditional Sinfonian Mills Music Mission sends us to perform for residents of local nursing homes. We are open not only to music majors, but to any man who has a love of music.
Founded in 1898 with the purpose of promoting sociability and the best and truest fraternal spirit, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is the oldest and largest secret fraternal society in music in the world. Banded together by our common goal of building men of the highest type, Sinfonians across the country seek to win the world to Harmony through its noble object:
The Object of this Fraternity shall be for the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit; the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students; the advancement of music in America and a loyalty to the Alma Mater.
