Accelerated BSN Program in Nursing Prerequisite Requirements
Applicants to the Accelerated BSN Program in Nursing must have met the following minimum requirements to be considered candidates for admission to the program:
- Earned a baccalaureate-degree from an accredited college or university with a cumulative quality point average (QPA) of at least a 2.75
- Completed the Prerequisite Course Requirements. That is, each of the following equivalent courses must have been completed at accredited colleges/universities within five years from the start of the program with grades no less than “C” in each:
- Elementary Statistics (MATH 107) or Biostatistics (HLTP 189/190)
- Lifespan Development / Developmental Psychology* (PSYCH 207)
- Anatomy & Physiology I (BIO 103 or BIO 106)
- Anatomy & Physiology II (BIO 104 or BIO 107)
- Microbiology (BIO 206)
- Fundamentals of Chemistry (CHEM 108)
- Applicants’ cumulative QPAs in the required natural science courses (BIO 103, 104, 206, & CHEM 108) must be at least a 2.67 and their overall QPA in these six required courses must be at least a 3.0.
*Note: Students may meet this prerequisite requirement by achieving a specified minimum score in the College-Level Entrance Examination Program (CLEP)
