PP-OTD FAQs

Q: Is the program accredited?

A: Moravian University is accredited through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education accredits entry-level educational programs like Moravian's MSOT, however, accreditation is not required for post-professional doctorate programs. 


Q: What are the requirements to apply to the PPOTD program?

  • Bachelors/Masters OT Degree from an ACOTE Accredited Program
  • Official Transcripts
  • GPA: minimum 3.0 GPA for MS program OR 3.0 GPA in last 60 credits of Bachelors (if no MS degree)
  • PPOTD NBCOT credential (in good standing)
  • Current OT State License (in good standing; if applicable)
  • One year full-time practice experience (preferred)
  • Resume/CV
  • Currently Practicing (must show evidence of consistent clinical/administrative/entrepreneurship practice)
  • 2 Letter of Professional Reference; 1 from an OTR/L (1 Letter for MU MSOT Graduates)
  • Short essay/personal statement/letter of intent
  • Interview (virtual)

Q: How long do accepted/admitted students have to start the program?

Once accepted into the PPOTD program, students should plan start within 6 months. After 6 months, the student will be required to reapply.


Q: If attending part-time, how long do you have to complete the program?

The maximum time allowed to complete the program is six (6) years. However, upon acceptance, the Program Director/Advisor will work together with the student to determine a plan of study that fits their unique goals with an estimated date of completion.
