The leaders of several Greater Lehigh Valley colleges will address enrollment, affordability, technology and other challenges and opportunities at Lehigh Valley Business’ inaugural symposium, “The Future of Higher Education,” on Wednesday morning in Breinigsville.

Held at the Holiday Inn Conference Center and open to the public, more than 100 professionals are expected to attend the panel discussion. Running from 8-10 a.m., the event also includes networking and a continental breakfast.

The panelists are Ann Bieber, president of Lehigh Carbon Community College, Bryon Grigsby, president of Moravian College, and Tina Richardson, chancellor of Penn State Lehigh Valley.

“The Greater Lehigh Valley is blessed with a variety of public and private institutions as well numerous large community colleges,” said Mike O’Rourke, publisher of Lehigh Valley Business. “They are significant employers, and we are excited to provide them with a platform to present their future.”

Some of the topics to be discussed include:

• The demographic enrollment profile of the student population.

• The role of technology in the future of higher education.

• How colleges meet the needs of students demanding more diverse learning opportunities.

• How colleges attack the crisis of mounting student debt.
