Abbey Rosko has exhibited in Corvallis, Oregon, and her painting We’ll End Our Roaming was featured in the Corvalis Gazette-Times and became part of the permanent collection of the Ugly Art Room gallery.

Last summer, Rosko interned for the artist-run gallery Fjord in Philadelphia. She teaches painting and drawing at the Baum School of Art in Allentown, PA. “I plan to pursue an MFA as well as continue to create and share my paintings and studio experiences with the community,” Rosko says.

“I make ethereal watercolor and oil paintings based on photographs that  I capture from a select few 1940s movie musicals. My paintings slip between abstraction and representation. I use experimental techniques as well  as traditional, direct approaches to painting in order to create otherworldly scenes distilled from cinematic imagery. Currently I’m experimenting with bringing together an array of methods including a reductive process that is essentially monotype printing with oil paint, paint pouring, and  direct painting.”
