Biography
Dr. Ravelle is a Professor Emeriti of Economics and Business at Moravian University. During his time at Moravian, Dr. Ravelle taught courses in business, economics, and law. He is the author of 17 articles and other scholarly publications. He is also the author of a book entitled "Cases and Exercises in Business, Financial and the Law." During his 45 years as a full-time member of the Moravian faculty, Dr. Ravelle served as the Chair of the Department of Economics and Business and as the Chair of the Department of Sociology. He is also a former member of the Board of Trustees. He is a 3-time recipient of the Timothy Briedegam Award for Outstanding Faculty Service and a recipient of the Christian and May Lindback Award for Outstanding Teaching.
Dr. Ravelle has also had an active career in business, consulting, law, and finance. Formerly an attorney at Steckel and Stopp; since 2001 he has been "Of Counsel" at the firm of King Spry Herman Freund and Faul, LLC. He is also a former board member and President of Brafferton Financial, LLC, a mortgage bank. He is a licensed financial planner and presently serves as President of Brafferton Financial Services, a planning and advisory service and registered insurance agency. During his lengthy career, Dr. Ravelle has advised or represented numerous banks, corporations, labor unions, and local government units. He is presently, an appointed agent for over 20 financial service organizations.
