Areas of Research and/or Expertise: 

Mark was recently elected to the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Council, where he serves on the Editorial Board of the CPA Journal and the Higher Education Committee. He designed the CPA Accelerator, an innovative experiential learning program to assist prospective CPAs in attaining the required 150 credits needed for licensure. Along with Professor O'Connor, Mark helped update the accounting curriculum for the CPA Evolution, the recently adopted AICPA recommended program to train new accountants. Working with other departments at the University, he developed a new forensic accounting and auditing minor. 

Mark has published a book on Decision Analysis Essentials (Vibrant Publishers, 2020), and with Dr. Kuhns and Professor O'Connor co-authored an article on the CPA Accelerator that was published in the Pennsylvania CPA Journal Summer 2024 edition. He is a director of Royalwood Holdings, LLC, a venture backed organization that acquires and manages smaller accounting firms. Mark also maintains an active consulting practice in the areas of federal income tax appeals and strategic management issues.
